Meet William Stinger, DO

Dr. Will Stinger and his wife Sara are both very excited to be returning home to Idaho. Dr. Stinger was born in Pocatello and attended Tyhee Elementary School through the third grade. When he was nine-years-old, his family moved to the small town of Greenleaf, Idaho on the far western side of the state. After high school, he returned to Pocatello and completed a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology at Idaho State University. While attending medical school in Des Moines, Iowa, and completing residency at the Altman Hospital, Canton, Ohio, he maintained his Pocatello cell phone number as he always knew he would return.

As is typical, third year medical students must complete a series of core hospital rotations. Rotations are four weeks in length and include rotations in internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology, surgery, psychiatry, emergency medicine and ambulatory medicine. While Dr. Stinger was deciding on a location to complete his rotation in obstetrics/gynecology, he placed a call to the Pocatello Women’s Health Clinic. After a brief conversation with the receptionist, he was connected with Dr. Joel Carlson, a former graduate of the medical school in Des Moines, Iowa. “I was very fortunate and excited to be able to complete my four week Ob/Gyn rotation under the general supervision of Dr. Carlson here in Pocatello,” said Dr. Stinger. “I was and continue to be impressed by the individual physicians as well as the overall practice at Pocatello Women’s Health Clinic.

With a spirit of collaboration and team work, the physicians and the staff work well together and have achieved great patient satisfaction.” The Pocatello Women’s Health Clinic was founded in 1999 by Dr. Kim Cox, Dr. Donald Dyer and Dr. William Schubert with the vision of creating a medical practice that treats every patient with dignity and first-rate care. The nurses and office staff at Pocatello Women’s Health Clinic are highly trained and exceptionally friendly. They understand that for many, visiting a doctor can be a stressful experience. With comfortable surroundings and compassionate medical professionals, patients are at ease. The Clinic provides compassionate care to the women of Southeastern Idaho. No matter what stage you are in your life, you can count on the providers and staff to take care of your health needs. Services at Pocatello Women’s Health Clinic include obstetrics, gynecology, high-risk pregnancy management, menopause, infertility, pelvic pain management, menstrual pain, heavy bleeding, and PMS, weight loss, contraceptive service – temporary, permanent, and non-hormonal, incontinence, depression, endometrial ablation, wellness care as well as medical education and overall general medical care for women of all ages.

In addition to being a part of a well-established and respected clinic, Dr. Stinger is looking forward to having an opportunity to read for leisure and is very excited about the upcoming ski season. “I bought my season pass for Pebble Creek a week after I signed the contract,” Dr. Stinger said. “There is not much skiing in Iowa and Ohio!”
